General Information: Students enter the library and come to the "big rug" in front of the Smart Board. Students are expected to sit criss cross with hands in their laps. They are also expected to raise their hands to speak. We learn how to be respectful of others, and how to give positive feedback. At the end of class, students are given a "smellie" (chapstick on the hand) if they have followed rules. We also pick 4 students for bearbucks each class period (names are written down so we can be sure to take turns - as long as we earn them). We have begun checking out library books, but kindergarten leaves their books in the classroom (they will begin taking them home in first grade).
We will read Mo Willems’ pigeon books. After reading/discussing the books, we will do a writing/drawing activity where students write “Don’t let the pigeon…”
